Program description

Geo Data of the Federal Republic of Germany with geo referenced towns and municipalities, town quarters, postal codes, telephone preselections. The data bases contain coordinates for navigation and geo coding, proximity searches and distance computations. Quite often it is necessary to reference an address field e.g. like town or municipality name, postal code or telephone preselection, to corresponding geographical data and coordinates - a Geo Reference. The geo reference can be used for example to direct a customer to the closest store locations of a retail store chain by doing a proximity search. Another possibility it to determine distances between the different objects of the database tables with the included geo references. With the elevation data from a Digital Elevation Model the ground level height of each place can be determined. Often the knowledge is necessary about affiliations and relationships between data derived from different hierarchies. So it can be determined to which federal state, governmental area or governmental county a town, a postal code or a telephone preselection is associated. The solution for this and other tasks are these database tables. ORTREF: 12.500 Towns and Municipalities with geo references. ORTGEM: 12.500 Towns and Municipalities without geo references. KREIS: 450 Administrative Countys. REGBEZ: Administrative Districts. LAND: Federal States. The download contains a test composition of the data of 5 local districts and the exact data description. A freeware conversion program CONVERT for producing of different data formats can be downloaded from the site http://www.killetsoft.de/p_cona_e.htm.

What is new:
Added 42.000 town quarters to ORTTLREF and ORTTLGEM. New data of the administrative reform in Saxony-Anhalt (July 2007) are contained in all data bases.Tables VORWREF and VORWGEM from better data source completely rebuilded. Added Ground Level Elevations
